Pinnacle Review 2018 – Read our Bookmaker Rating in 5 Mins
Pinnacle sprung to life in 1998 and for almost 20 years now, the bookmaker has grown to become one of the largest fully licenced sportsbooks in the world, reaching over 100 countries. The bookie is based in Curacao, an island known as much for its beauty as its gambling involvement, gaining licences from the Government of the Netherlands Antilles. While the country is known for gambling, its licences do not hold the same esteem that others do. Not one to be bested, Pinnacle gained a remote Maltese gaming licence in 2015. Throughout the course of this Pinnacle review, we’ll look at the betting markets on offer. From sportsbook bets on popular sports like horse racing to their extensive casino range, not to mention their best value odds. So, without further ado, let’s get started on our Pinnacle sportsbook review and see how they compare to the best online bookmakers around.
The result of the OpenOdds Pinnacle review
You may not be familiar with Pinnacle, but that doesn’t mean that the site is a newcomer. With almost 20 years of sport betting experience, you can be assured that they know what they’re doing. Notably, they appreciate arbitrage betting, if that’s your scene. The site offers a good selection of sporting options, so if you’re a fan of traditional British sports, such as cricket, tennis and football (soccer), you’ll find them here. The site also caters for fans of US sports with basketball, baseball and volleyball all available too. There’s even esports, for the tech savvy among you. While the site is simple in its design, all the basics are there. As well as sports, you can also take a spin on the roulette wheel or try your hand at video poker in the Pinnacle casino. Again, this is basic, with nothing that really stands out from the norm. With this in mind, we’re going to be pretty generous in our Pinnacle rating.

Pinnacle: OpenOdds 10 Review Categories Comprehensive Rating Report Concerning This Top Bookmaker
All bookmakers thoroughly tested by the OpenOdds team, must prove themselves in the following 10 review categories, even Pinnacle!
01.Bonuses:No sports betting bonuses for Pinnacle users!
As you read our Pinnacle review, you’ll see that the bookmaker has huge upsides, so you’ll be surprised to know that there are no sports betting bonuses available for sports fans. In fact, there are no free bets offers or other bonuses to be found on the site, except for cashback on selected casino games. Instead, the website is all inclusive. What we mean by that is they are one of the few bookies that will open their arms to arbitrage bettors. While other sites limit the odds given on arb betting, Pinnacle treat these players the same and offer consistently good odds to keep them there. They also claim not to restrict players who win, unlike some of the less scrupulous sites out there. We’ve all come across a site that’s limited our odds or closed our account because we’re in credit. Pinnacle promises not to do that, which is a breath of fresh air.
02.Customer Service:Help is at hand at Pinnacle
Scroll down to the bottom of the homepage and you’ll find the ‘help’ link, which is written in 12 different languages, including English for international players. Despite English support, players from the UK find themselves on Pinnacle sports banned countries list, due to UK law. In the help section, you’ll find answers to any questions you may have such as, ‘how do I download Pinnacle’s app?’, ‘how do I verify my account?’, or ‘how do I cash out with Pinnacle?’, as well as the betting rules for Pinnacle sports and casino betting. You’ll also find a ‘contact us’ page for Pinnacle’s customer service, which is available via email 24/7. All you need to do is complete the form by adding the email address you’ve used to register your account and write details of your query. While Pinnacle claim to get back quickly via email, it would have been nice to be able to contact by phone or live chat to speed up the process.
03.Sports Covered:A simple selection of classic sports available
So, what sports can you bet on? We counted 13 different sports on our last check, with some live in-play betting available on limited markets. The sports are nothing to shout home about. You won’t find unusual choices here, just staple sports such as basketball, cricket, football and rugby, etc. What does set Pinnacle apart from other bookmakers though, is their help guides. Say for example you’re hoping to place a bet on American football, but don’t know where to start. Pinnacle are here to help with their NFL betting articles. They have betting strategies for all sports, as well as in-depth information such as how weather affects game outcomes and how to make a pre-season profit. So, while the bookie may not offer a multitude of choice, they provide something much more important – knowledge to bet wisely. And that, friends, is where the difference between profit and loss lies.
04.Payment Methods:International payment methods on offer
Next up in our Pinnacle Sportsbook review is how to pay. We know that with Pinnacle sports, UK bettors are not accepted. But for those of you from further afield, Pinnacle deposit & withdrawal can be done in a variety of ways. Bank transfer, Visa and Mastercard, Paysafecard, Neteller and Skrill are the most commonly used options online. With a growing interest from Chinese players, the site has expanded to include China Banking and China Debit card amongst their accepted payment methods. QIWI Wallet can also be used if you’re from New Zealand, as well as a host of other e-wallets including WebMoney and ecoPayz. If you find yourself asking ‘Is Pinnacle safe?’, then you’d probably be best with a bank transfer. Add on almost 20 years of bookmaking experience, and site security, and your money should be safe as houses.
05.Security:Safety taken seriously at Pinnacle
Is Pinnacle safe? As mentioned earlier, Pinnacle has licences from the government of Netherlands Antilles and the Malta Gaming Authority to ensure that they stick to strict gambling regulations in those home countries. As part of the restrictions imposed on bookmakers under these jurisdictions, the site must maintain a bank balance that can pay out all potential winnings to customers at all times. This means you can be sure that Pinnacle is trustworthy. The games are also regulated by eCogra’s, who check all casino games are fair and impartial. Pinnacle’s payout percentages are displayed clearly on eCogra’s website, with an overall percentage of 97.78% across all games. Notably, live dealer roulette has a payout percentage of 100.54%, above average for most betting providers. The website also uses data encryption to protect personal information such as card details and home addresses. Account verification for large wins is also required, ensuring that payouts are made to the correct person and that they are of legal gambling age.
06.Betting Odds:Pinnacle reviews show they’re best for payouts. Check out their odds, today!
One of Pinnacle’s mottos is ‘No. 1 for payouts!’, which they couple with the claim that they consistently offer the best value odds online when it comes to sports. And unlike the claims of some competitors, it seems that Pinnacle are telling the truth. We compared Pinnacle reviews to other bookmaker’s reviews, checking odds and betting margins. Pinnacle came out on top for football, and on their own website have broken down how their odds blow betting exchanges like Betfair out of the water. And, of course, fixed odds bookmakers don’t generally charge fees for using their service, unlike exchange sites like Betfair, making them an attractive proposition for many. All in all, the odds on Pinnacle were great, so we had to give them a great rating. Don’t forget that you can boost your chances of getting the best odds by using betting odds comparison tables to see who offers the best value.
07.User-friendliness:A bookmaker’s site made for the punters!
Pinnacle has welcomed arbitrage bettors and repeat winners in with open arms and has even tried to educate players using their website articles. All this gives us the impression that you guys matter to Pinnacle, and, trust us, we’re cynical when it comes to believing that sort of thing. Whether you’re a beginner taking the first steps into online betting, or a seasoned pro looking to change your sport of choice, there’s something here for you. And with a great range of odds and an easily navigated website, it’s clear that Pinnacle has thought hard about their user experience. But, nothing is perfect. While the website is easy to use, it’s also a bit bland. And where are the bonuses to tempt in casual players? Other than that, Pinnacle have you covered. The Pinnacle app is one of the best betting apps we’ve seen, too, with the added benefit of a mobile betting and casino offering.
08.In-play Product:Disappointing in-play product lets Pinnacle down
It’s a shame that a site that places so much impetus on their user experience is let down by their in-play experience. It’s one of the most important developments that has come out of sports betting in recent years, but sadly, as we found during our Pinnacle review, it’s an area that needs more development. Yes, in-play is offered on the site, but sadly, it’s limited to just a few sports. When we logged in to the site there was basketball, soccer and tennis live games available, and this seems to be the norm. Live streaming is not available from the site either, which is a real shame. But despite the lack of sports, you’ve still got plenty of choice. Take football live betting for example. You have the option of betting on games from 40 different countries. Women’s football is also included, as are UEFA games. The offerings are good, but would still benefit from a wider choice of sports, hence a lower Pinnacle rating.
09.Other Products:All the bases covered here, but no spectacle
You might remember that earlier on in our Pinnacle review, we mentioned a casino. You’re probably wondering what it has to offer. Believe us, it’s good. You’ve got all the special features you’d expect from an online casino, such as slots and table games, video poker and card games. Pinnacle also offers bingo and keno for something a little different. These games are often found on sites that focus specifically on these games, such as Betfred Bingo or Gala Bingo, so it’s nice to see Pinnacle add them to their arsenal. There is an air of afterthought about the casino though. It’s clear that the site was aimed more towards the sports market – in fact, the business was even called Pinnacle Sports at one point before dropping the word ‘sports’ when the casino was added. The slot games, while reliable, are less commonly seen options. One thing we do love, though, is the addition of each games RTP in the games lobby, so you can see at a glance how likely on average you are to win. Video poker and a live casino completes the site’s offering for a well-rounded, albeit basic casino experience.
10.Betting Limits:The sky’s the limit with Pinnacle wins!
It’s not often we come across a site that has no maximum daily win limit, but Pinnacle claims they are that site. While this is true for most bets, they do state in their terms and conditions that the maximum you can win from parlay bets in a day is $250,000 from a maximum of 10 legs. Crucially, the site also says that they won’t restrict the odds or site access to players who have accumulated large wins, which is something that less scrupulous bookmakers have been known to do. We thought we’d check out this claim, by reading through the Pinnacle rating given by players of the site. Happily, we couldn’t find any comments where players thought their account was shut down unnecessarily. So, it seems that Pinnacle is certainly among the most reliable and respectable bookmakers out there.
Our Verdict of :Great betting odds
Overall, we’re impressed with the Pinnacle sportsbook. There are some areas for improvement, namely the limited choice of live betting options, the fact that UK players can’t use the website, and they don’t include the best free bets offers. But iron out these issues and there’s lots to be thankful for as Pinnacle offer some truly incredible odds on sports betting all over the world. The site is designed with the user in mind and regardless of whether you arb your bets or not, make Pinnacle one to watch for in the future should the brand’s UK availability return.
