Redbet Bookmaker Review – Read our Sportsbook Rating
The Swedish stock company Nordic Leisure AB is the driving force behind the bookmaker Redbet (Redbet Gaming Ltd.). Redbet started its online business in August 2004, making it a rather young bookmaker, and already offers approximately 270,000 customers a broad entertainment program ranging from poker to various casino offers and on to sports betting. Only these areas are being evaluated in this Redbet review!
The results of the OpenOdds Redbet bookmaker review.
There is no question about it, the sports betting product provided by Redbet is well thought out. However, the fact that it is only possible to bet on six sports: baseball, basketball, ice hockey, football, handball and tennis is just not enough to pique the interest of sports bettors. The football area is the clear leader in terms of betting product compared to the other sports types.
Just as there is the red lantern for the last place in the Tour de France, there also has to be a last place in the OpenOdds team’s comprehensive bookmaker review table. With just 62 of a possible 100 points, the Redbet sportbook rating takes this position. How fitting.
Redbet experiences: This Swedish bookmaker has just a few strengths.
- Within the football area, there is a competitive sports bet offer.
- A transparent website which allows for a quick introduction into sports betting.
- An easy-to-reach customer service available at user-friendly times.
- A comprehensive FAQ section is also offered.
Redbet: Our comprehensive review of the last place in the OpenOdds review table.
When racing for top positions within the OpenOdds bookmaker review table, bookmakers had to prove themselves within the following categories, even the Swedish bookmaker Redbet:
- Betting odds
- Customer service
- Sports covered
- In-play product
- Payment methods
- Other Products
- Betting limits
The opinions regarding Redbet are quite diversified in the various categories. There are perfect performances seen for example with ‘other products’, unfortunately, there are also areas of great issue for example with the live offer. Our opinion of Redbet can be seen within the score given for our Redbet rating.
1.) Bonuses: A modest bonus with high hurdles.
Yes, Redbet has a bonus program available within the sports betting section but it is neither very attractive nor surprising. The bonuses found within the Redbet casino, which seems to be the core area of this bookmaker, are much better. New sports betting customers receive a 50% credit to their first deposit after registering, but only to an amount of €50. The ideal deposit is, therefore, €100 in order to take full advantage of the welcoming bonus. The received bonus has to be placed 16 times in a row on bets whose odds are at 2.0, furthermore the bonus expires after 30 days. Casino users are offered 5 free spins within Redbet’s casino game ‘Spacewars’ before a deposit has to be made or a 100% bonus for up to €200 as well as 25 free spins within other casino games offered, in terms of bonuses it appears the casino offers are far more attractive than the sports offers with Redbet.
2.) Betting odds: No high odds, but the second bookmaker of interest for sure bets
The betting odds at the niche bookmaker Redbet are solid, but nothing more. There are no great runaways among the underdog bets, plus the odds for bet alternatives for bets such as classic three-way bets are of no interesrt. The fact that the sports bet offer at Redbet is not so well maintained has its advantages: sports betting professionals on the lookout for a second bookmaker for placing sure bets should definitely scroll to the bottom of the OpenOdds betting odds comparison and see what is available.
3.) Customer service: Some languages are missing, but they do speak Finnish
The customer support is available for all Redbet customers via live chat. Unfortunately it is not 24/7, as is common practice among top bookmakers, but from 09:00 a.m. to 01:00 a.m. every day, the live chat is available only in English or Swedish. Some languages are also missing from Redbet’s telephone service, but they do have exotic languages such as Finnish and Norwegian available.
4.) User-friendliness: Not exactly with the times, but very transparent!
The online services provided by Redbet are transparently designed and is also available in a number of languages including German, but only partly. For example within the comprehensive FAQ section, only the title is translated.
The registration for a betting account at Redbet is fast and easy, but it is also necessary. Contrary to the OpenOdds Review winner bet365, it is not possible to just place a couple of trial bets into the “Shopping Cart" at Redbet. Only after registration, are all functions available.
The website design is practical, but sadly incompatible with Smartphones.
5.) Sports covered: Limited sportsbook bar football.
The football betting offer provided by Redbet is, as far as range is concerned, quite competitive. Depending on the time of the season, it is possible to place bets on more than 2000 matches. The few sports types also offered, other than football, are not of any real sports betting quality, and bring about even less enthusiasm. Because of rather limited sports available the Redbet sportsbook review suffers in this category.
6.) In-play product: Live streams and detailed live tickers are nowhere to be found.
Yes, Redbet has an option for betting on live games. Compared to the larger more established bookmakers, however, this offer is not very competitive. It is only possible to bet on a few live events. There are no live tickers or streams available. This is where the Redbet review really needs to make some improvements, or else even our red lantern could be in danger!
7.) Payment methods: From credit cards to exotic payment service providers
Redbet is, as far as payment methods for cash-outs and deposits go is well equipped. Not only is it possible to use classic credit cards VISA, VISA Electron, Mastercard for deposits and cash-outs, but also instant banking (but only in Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Poland) as well as using payment service providers such as Neteller, paysafecard, Przelewy24 (Poland), Skrill, WebMoney and VISA QIWI Wallet (Russia). It is even possible to use a standard European bank transfer, but with processing taking up to 5 bank days, this is the most time consuming.
8.) Other products: This is actually the main attraction.
Casino Blue, Casino Red, live casino and poker are not additional products to the sports betting options, but rather the main attraction. This does not excite the passionate sports bettors within the OpenOdds team. Another aspect that is worth mentioning is the very attractive bonus offer within the casino area.
9.) Security: Everything is safe and professional!
At Redbet Gaming Ltd. and the parent group Nordic Leisure AB, security aspects such as “Data Security", “Data Safekeeping" and “Reliability" are worth their own menu section at the bottom of the Redbet website. Here, you will learn how, where and what data is stored. All in all a secure offer wrapped up in a professional presentation, but without any highlights.
10.) Betting limits: Unfortunately, not very transparent.
Redbet does not list any bet limits, neither for minimum nor maximum amount. Within some bookmaker reviews, the modest bet limit amount of €1,000 can be found. Either way, the bookmaker Redbet is not for sports betting enthusiastic high rollers. For this, there are several other better bookmakers.
