Winner Review 2018 – Read our Bookmaker Rating in 5 Mins
In this Winner sportsbook review you’ll discover the various highlights that may help you decide if this bookie meets your requirements. Winner was established in 2009, but the sports betting side was launched in 2013, so it hasn’t been around for as long as some of the other best online bookmakers. Is Winner safe? Winner is licensed and regulated by Antigua and Barbuda’s Financial Services Regulatory Commission, as well as having a Gambling Commission Licence to offer sports betting in the UK. This should give you confidence in playing with Winner. Although it’s a relatively new player on the scene, Winner Sportsbook clearly means business and has been sure to establish itself as having a great selection of sports and markets on offer. It’s also the official betting partner of Durham County Cricket Club.
The result of the OpenOdds Winner review
In our Winner sportsbook review we found some great advantages, including the impressive £200 welcome deposit bonus. This bonus does require you to wager before a withdrawal is possible, however it can help boost your bankroll in the early stages of placing bets at this site. Another advantage is how simple the site is to use. Even if you’re a newcomer in the world of sports betting you’ll find the menu system to be intuitive.
The disadvantages are that the odds aren’t competitive when compared to the market leaders that have already been reviewed by OpenOdds. Also more could be added in terms of the number of sports so that a comprehensive range could be offered. Overall, OpenOdds has determined that the Winner rating is 76 out of 100. It is certainly not one of the best bookmakers we have reviewed, but because of the quality of the bonus that’s available we think you should give this bookmaker a try.
Winner Experiences: An industry leading bookmaker
- A welcome bonus of up to £200
- The website design is intuitive to use
- Lots of ways to deposit your money

Winner Sportsbook Review: OpenOdds’ detailed rating report regarding this top bookmaker
The following section of the Winner review will take an in-depth look at this bookie across 10 different categories. OpenOdds hopes that by the end of this section you’ll have a clear picture of what Winner is able to offer. These are the categories we’ll examine:
1.) Bonuses: a £200 welcome bonus
The welcome deposit bonus at Winner works well for both micro stakes players and those looking to make a larger deposit. You get a 100% matched deposit bonus up to a value of £200, which is a decent amount and can certainly help you increase your bankroll in your first few weeks at the bookie. Our Winner review was pretty impressed with the bonus – the terms and conditions are also reasonable.
The minimum deposit you must make is £30, but we suggest that you deposit the full £200 – if it’s within your funds – to take full advantage of the Winner bonus offer. Furthermore, when placing bets to meet the wagering requirements you must place bets with odds of between 2.0 (evens) and 11.0 (10/1). You have to wager 8 times the deposit amount to release the bonus, which isn’t that high when compared to other bookmakers. You get 14 days to make those wagering requirement bets, which is a fair amount of time if you’re a regular player.
2.) Betting odds: some improvement is needed here
To give yourself the best chance of making money at a sports betting site you need to have access to competitive odds. As with most online bookmakers the quality of the odds at Winner varies from one sport to another. The overall profit margin for Winner’s sportsbook is 4.8% which is neither impressive or terrible. Their football profit margin is 4.9%. Overall Winner sits fairly comfortably in the middle of the road when it comes to odds, so if you’re looking for amazing deals in a particular sport you probably won’t find them here. On the other hand, if you like to bet on a little of everything then you won’t be at a disadvantage if you stick with Winner.
3.) Customer service: available 24/7
Is having a good quality customer service department important to you? Then you won’t be disappointed with the service at Winner. They offer help 24/7 so it doesn’t matter when you need assistance. Also, we appreciate that the customer service is available not just in English. The languages they can help in are German, Swedish, French, Russian, Polish, Greek, Spanish and Norwegian.
You can get in touch with the Winner customer service team via live chat, or telephone on 800 045 006. Also the e-mail address for the customer service department is email@example.com. This will prove to be very helpful if you need to clearly state your problem and your request is not particularly time-sensitive. These options are easily found on the left hand side of the homepage, below the list of sports offered.
4.) User-friendliness: standard user interface
While it isn’t technically essential, it helps to have a good-looking website to place your sports bets at. More importantly, the site has to be functional and up to the standards of the top online bookmakers out there. The Winner sports website has a clean look to it. While you may have expected the casino’s orange branding to be carried over to the Winner sportsbook, they have opted instead to go for blue.
The functionality of the site is average for the online bookmaker industry, and there are no big surprises in terms of the layout. On the left hand side a menu system displays all the sporting events and betting markets that can be accessed in order to place a bet. The specifics of the bet will be displayed in the center of the screen and as is standard the betting slip is on the right hand side. If you have used an online bookmaker in the past then you’ll find this website intuitive.
5.) Sports covered: a limited range
Having a wide selection of sports to bet on is ideal, but at Winner the range is somewhat limited. For the most part you are limited to the most popular options on the marketplace including football, basketball, golf, horse racing, motor-sports, rugby and tennis. There are also options available to bet on events such as MMA and even politics. Although the selection may seem diverse, many sportsbooks offer a far greater variety, so if you were hoping to bet on your particular niche favourite, you may not be in the right place. Winner reviews have to remember that the bookie is relatively new, however, so perhaps a greater range of options will be added in the future.
6.) In-play product: promising, but more variety could be added
Having the freedom to still wager on a sporting event once it has started is one of the best things to happen to the online bookmaking industry in recent years. However, not all bookies offer the same coverage of sports and options in this department. Our Winner review found that they are certainly making strides to catch up with the top dogs when it comes to in-play betting, although they have some distance to go.
In-play is found by navigating to a separate tab at the top of the Winner homepage. There you can see both events which are currently in progress and ones which will be available for in-play betting soon. There are statistics provided for the matches, so that you can keep track of the game as you decide when to place your bets. Unfortunately there is no live-streaming service at present.
7.) Payment methods: a solid number of deposit options
At Winner one of the things they have certainly done well is provide a bunch of deposit options. These options include: Visa, Mastercard, Entropay, Click2pay, Webmoney, Neteller, Clickandbuy, Instadebit, ECO and Bank Transfer. These options can be checked by navigating to the footer where the logos of supported payment processors are displayed. Interestingly Skrill does not seem to be an option at Winner.
The deposit will be instant for all of these options. However, for withdrawals the processing time is on average 4 working days. This is a little over the industry average. There are typically no fees associated with deposits and withdrawals, although there is a maximum withdrawal limit of £10,000 in any 48hr period, and of £100,000 in any calendar month.
8.) Other products: poker, bingo and casino is also on offer
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Winner has a lot to offer in the ‘other products’ department. The company is primarily known for its casino and the offering of games there is extensive. You’ll find a great selection of slots, including some exciting jackpots and a live casino where you can play blackjack, poker, baccarat and roulette with real dealers. Winner also offer more extensive poker options as well as a bingo page and the recently added Macau tab where they’ve taken inspiration from the gaming capital of Asia to offer you themed games and live dealers.
9.) Security: is Winner safe?
The encryption protocols implemented to protect the personal data of customers are of an impressive standard. You don’t have to be worried about the security of Winner as an online bookie. All in all the security protocols followed by Winner are of the industry standard, so you won’t have to worry about your money. Winner are also committed to responsible gambling and provide information and links on how to recognise problems and what to do if you are worried about your play.
10.) Betting limits: the betting limits at Winner are not the best
It can be frustrating when the betting limits of a bookie restrict your ability to place the bets you want. However, if you want you can actually limit the amount of money you can lose or deposit over a specific period of time. This feature is in place to protect yourself from losing more money than you can afford.
In terms of the maximum winnings on the sportsbook, our Winner reviews weren’t so impressed. The maximum aggregate winning limit is £100,000, but the specific betting limits will be different for each sport. This is pretty low when you consider the fact that several bookies have limits of £1,000,000 or more. For cricket the betting limit is £50,000, for darts it’s £20,000, for Golf it’s £50,000 and for football it’s £50,000. However, make sure to find out the specifics when approaching the betting limits of the sport and market. Remember that if you are making a multi-bet, then the lowest winning limit of the markets you’re playing on will apply.
Our Verdict of Winner:Decent betting effort
After having reviewed the Winner sportsbook from the point of view of 10 different categories we can summarise the disadvantages and advantages of this bookmaker. One of the disadvantages is that the quality of the odds needs to be improved. It can be hard to justify staying at a particular bookmaker when better odds are offered elsewhere. Furthermore, more sports could be added so that a large variety of customers are catered for.
The advantages of the site include a very generous £200 matched deposit bonus. Another advantage is the simplicity of the user interface. There is no clutter and you’ll be able to place your bets in an efficient manner. The Winner rating we have given this site is about average, but it is still worth taking a look at for the generous bonus offer. You might enjoy the simplicity of the site and decide to bet on sports there for the long term.
