1.) Bonuses: Decent matched deposit sign up offer
The first part of our 22Bet esports betting review looked at the 22Bet esports betting bonus. By signing up to the 22Bet site, you can get a 122% matched deposit bonus that can give you up to €50 in extra betting funds, and the brand will throw in an extra 22 bet points on top.
You can get this bonus by making an initial deposit of at least €1 with all payment methods except for cryptocurrencies and you won’t need any kind of bonus code. Once you’ve made your qualifying deposit, the bonus funds should automatically show up in your account, but you will need to meet the bonus’ wagering conditions before you withdraw your winnings.
These state that you must bet the value of the bonus five times by making accumulator bets with at least three selections and each of these selections must have odds of 1.40 or higher. You get just seven days to complete these wagering conditions otherwise your 22Bet esports betting bonus funds will be declared void. Terms and conditions apply, 18+.
2.) Betting Odds: Decent odds on top esports
The next part of our 22Bet esports betting review looked at the brand’s odds. In order to put 22Bet’s odds to the test, we decided to see how the brand rated against a dedicated esports betting site like ArcaneBet.
Our odds comparison test revealed that 22Bet were offering odds of 2.18 for KDX to win their League of Legends LCK Summer Split match against KT Rolster. This was less than the odds of 2.34 that you could get for the same outcome at ArcaneBet. But it was interesting to see that 22Bet were offering odds of 1.60 for a KT Rolster victory which was better than ArcaneBet’s odds of 1.57 for a KT Rolster win.
So this shows us that betting on esports with 22Bet can occasionally deliver you some very competitive odds, but as always, it pays to shop around to get the best value for your esports bets.
3.) Customer Services: Only email and live chat customer support available
Whilst our 22Bet esports betting review found that the brand’s website was relatively straightforward to use, we’re fairly sure that there will come a time when you need some help with your esports bets.
Thankfully, 22Bet have given you a simple email form that can be used to direct your queries to one of the brand’s customer service representatives. The brand state that they will try and resolve your queries within 24 hours. There is also a live chat button that can be found at the bottom right of the brand’s website but the service was offline when we carried out this review.
Sadly there was nothing in the way of telephone hotline facilities at 22Bet, and we would have also liked to seen more in the way of a useful FAQ that could answer some common customer questions.
4.) User-Friendliness: User-friendly website but no esports betting app
The 22Bet website is broadly designed in a similar way to many other betting sites. This means that you have a handy navigation bar at the top of the screen that allows you to login, register and browse the current bonuses and available payment methods.
All of the relevant eSports betting options can be accessed by using the side navigation bar, and the main odds will be displayed in the front centre of the site. We were also glad to find helpful resources like the contacts section and terms and conditions displayed at the footer of the website.
Sadly it looks like 22Bet have failed to give us anything in the way of a dedicated 22Bet app, but the mobile version of the website loaded up fine and worked well on the browser of our smartphones.
5.) Games Covered: Impressive selection of esports
We were seriously impressed with the sheer quantity of eSports covered by 22Bet. Although this is primarily a sports betting site, the brand went way beyond just giving us simple bets on iconic eSports like Dota 2 and League of Legends.
We found that the brand gave you the chance to bet on everything from Quake to FIFA, plus you also had the option of even wagering on Angry Birds. So whether you are into Tekken, Flatout, BattleRite, CrossOut, CSGO, Call of Duty, World of Tanks, Hearthstone, Rocket League or Heroes of the Storm, then you should definitely check out what 22Bet have to offer.
6.) Events and Tournaments: Good coverage of top tournaments
We all know how you get the best betting options whenever a big eSports tournament comes around. Thankfully, 22Bet haven’t let us down here as they covered many massive events like the Dota 2 ProDota Cup as well as the League of Legends LCK Summer Split and LMS Summer Split events.
There were also plenty of smaller esports tournaments featured too. This meant that you could wager on anything from the Champions League FIFA tournament to some random battles for World of Tanks and Hearthstone. Whilst we couldn’t find any outright betting options, this was probably enough for most esports betting fans.
7.) In-Play eSports Betting: No live streaming but decent live betting markets
Nearly all dedicated eSports betting sites will include a free live streaming service to help customers enjoy a better live betting experience. Sadly it seems that this is a step too far for 22Bet as customers will just have to make do with watching the live score being updated to get any idea of what’s going on in their chosen eSports match.
Thankfully, 22Bet do a little better when it comes to giving you some decent in-play betting markets. This means that you can do much more than just lay down a live match winner bet, as the brand also allow you to take in-play bets on the correct score, or even try some handicap betting on the total amount of maps won by each eSports team.
8.) Payment Methods: Huge choice of payment methods including Bitcoin
As 22Bet cover a wide range of territories, it’s no real surprise to find that the brand include a massive selection of payment methods. These cover respected credit and debit cards like Visa, Maestro and MasterCard, e-wallets like Skrill, EcoPayz and Neteller, prepaid cards such as Paysafecard and you can also make a standard bank transfer.
We were also impressed with the fact that 22Bet allow you to use a wide range of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, plus you also have the option of trading your Steam gaming items. 22Bet won’t charge you for making financial transactions with their site and you can usually make deposits and withdrawals from upwards of €1 at a time. Processing times will vary according to the payment method used.
9.) Security: Licensed by Government of Curacao
Whilst 22Bet might be new to many eSports fans, you can rest easy in the knowledge that the brand are fully licensed and regulated by the Government of Curacao. This means that you will gain a much greater level of protection when compared to any dodgy unlicensed eSports betting sites.
You also won’t have to worry about how 22Bet handles your transactions as the brand state that they use multiple encryption to keep your deposits and personal information safe and secure.
10.) Betting limits: How much can you win with your esports bets?
Most dedicated eSports betting sites unfortunately have very low betting limits that could seriously affect any potentially lucrative bets. Thankfully, you won’t have that kind of problem at 22Bet as the brand have sky high betting limits that allow you to win up to €600,000 with a single bet via their betting service.
There’s also a decent provision made for newcomers to eSports betting too. This means that you can safely try out their eSports betting service by making tiny bets of just €0.20 at a time.
Most people would probably expect a sports betting website like 22Bet to feature a fairly limited selection of eSports odds. But we were seriously impressed with what we found as the brand covered many more eSports than just standard options like LoL, CSGO and Dota 2.
If 22Bet could make more efforts to include things like live streaming and a decent FAQ section, then we are sure that many more eSports betting fans will come flocking to this site in the future.
