Football Index gives you a brand new way to make some decent profits from the beautiful game. Rather than betting on the outcome of a particular football match from a standard bookmaker, Football Index allows you to trade on the value of individual players. This is like buying shares in the stock market, so as the value of a player rises, then you stand to make a bigger profit.

In order to work out the value of each player, Football Index takes data from changes in footballer prices, media rankings and match-day statistics. Previous football seasons have seen the values of players like Jamie Vardy soar as a result of a dramatic change in their fortunes, and it’s clear that this provides you with a brand new way to try out some interesting betting strategies.

Football Index is a brand that is operated by the Jersey-based BetIndex Ltd company, and they have been helping punters enjoy this new way of betting on football since 2015. So does Football Index offer a better alternative to that of a traditional bookie? Read our Football Index review and find out more.

The result of the OpenOdds Football Index review

Our Football Index review found that this brand has given you a great new alternative to betting on football. Rather than waiting for short-term profits on simple match bets, you can instead buy and sell shares in professional footballers over the long term. This is a valuable addition to the sports betting scene, as even the best online bookmakers tend to offer a broadly similar service.

Rather than spending time calculating your potential profit on a betting odds comparison test, you’ll be looking at the Football Index rating for each individual player in accordance to a wide range of variables. So if you’ve bought shares in a footballer who’s just scored a hat-trick, then you could sell your shares and make a profit. But if your player gets a nasty injury, then you share values will drop and it might be a case of hanging onto them until they return to form.

So how does the Football Index service work in practice? We’ve created a Football Index review that examines everything from the brand’s licensing and payment methods, to their customer service facilities. Why not read our in-depth Football Index review and see whether they can give you a great alternative to a standard bookmaker.

All you need to access this deal is to be a new customer who makes an initial deposit of £10, and then you have seven days to decide if you’d like to request a refund. You can claim a refund by contacting the brand’s customer service team via the customer support email address.

02. Customer Service: Telephone and email support available

Whilst our Football Index sportsbook review will give you a basic introduction to the brand’s key features, you will probably need a little extra help to make the most of their service. Thankfully, the brand have put on a free telephone customer support service, alongside a dedicated email address that has been set up to answer your queries.

Although there is no live chat facility available at the website, these two options give you a quick and easy way to contact one of the Football Index customer service representatives. In addition to this, Football Index also respond to customers via their active Twitter channel, so don’t be shy of raising any issues via social media.

If you have any basic questions regarding the Football Index service, then you can also go to the brand’s help centre. This is packed full of frequently asked questions such as ‘How do I play?’, and ‘How is a player’s position determined?’. So although most of us will be new to football trading, Football Index will try and give you a helping hand.

03. Sports Covered: All the best football trading options here

Whilst it’s easy to see how the trading concept could work equally well for sports ranging from cricket to Formula One racing, the Football Index website only focuses on giving you the option to trade shares on the beautiful game.

But a big part of why the Football Index rating is so favourable, is the fact that their service covers a massive range of players, leagues and tournaments. Not only do you get to trade on stars in the English Premier League, but the site also allows you to buy shares in players from many other top leagues like the Bundesliga, Serie A, France Ligue 1, and even the Turkish and Russian leagues.

So if you want to make money on other sports like tennis, rugby or horse racing, then you might need to visit a regular bookie. But for football trading, we can quickly see why Football Index reviews are usually so favourable.

04. Payment Methods: Only credit and debit card payment options

In order to buy shares in your favourite players, you will need to make a deposit. At the moment, Football Index only allow you to make payments and receive dividends through credit and debit cards like Visa and MasterCard.

This is a much smaller choice of options when compared to other bookmakers, but it means that you have all of the safety and security associated with these payment methods.

You can make a deposit from a minimum of £10 by heading to your account section and clicking on the deposit button. Similarly, you can make a withdrawal of £10 or over by going to your account and selecting the withdraw icon. Football Index state that withdrawals should take between two and five working days to process. Just remember that Football Index charge a 2% commission fee on all shares sold.

Payment Methods Available

05. Security: Licensed by UK Gambling Commission

‘Is Football Index safe?’ is one of the first questions that many new customers will have when they read any Football Index reviews. Thankfully, the brand are fully licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and are therefore required to give their customers a fair, safe and completely transparent betting service.

In addition to this, the brand have formed an alliance with GambleAware to help you gamble responsibly, plus they are covered by the Independent Betting Adjudication Service to resolve any disputes between customers and the betting company.

And with an SSL-encrypted website, and the reliability of the Football Index deposit and withdrawal methods, you should find a positive response to any questions like ‘Is Football Index safe?’.

06.Betting Odds: Reputable share value formulation

Football Index formulate the values of their shares through a thorough analysis of each player via a variety of sources. Obviously the trading website uses the current market value of the player to conjure up their share prices, but the brand also use media rankings and matchday rankings to work out the value of all footballers.

The media rankings statistics are taken from 25 UK news feeds to find out which footballers are trending in order to have their prices boosted accordingly. And the matchday rankings look into the performance of each individual player so that their efforts on the pitch translate into how much you are paying for their shares. Whilst this is a little different from looking at betting odds, it certainly gives you an interesting way to bet on the fortunes of your favourite footballers.

07. User-friendliness: User-friendly website and intuitive apps

The Football Index is thankfully simple to navigate and straightforward to use. From logging in to trading your shares, everything is laid out in an intuitive manner. In addition to this, the brand have developed some great betting apps to help you trade shares from a tablet or smartphone.

At the moment you can get a Football Index app for iOS and Android devices. These apps provide you with a wealth of statistics about the players that include buying and selling prices, biographies, and rankings. In addition to this, both the app and the website have a constantly rolling display of prices of the top players, along with the latest trading action, just like you’d find for commodities on the stock market.

08. In-play Product: Constantly changing football share prices

Whilst Football Index don’t allow you to make in-play bets on live football matches, each player’s value is constantly updated in real-time in accordance to events happening in the real world.

This means that you’re never short of changing statistics that could determine when you decide to buy or sell shares in a particular player. So whether you hear rumours of a big transfer deal, or just see a star playing well in a league match, then all of these things add up to a constantly changing way to make some profits from football.

09. Other Products: Just football trading options

Whilst some online bookmakers like to give their customers some alternative entertainments in the form of virtual sports and even casino games, Football Index keeps things pared back to the bare minimum.

As such, you can only buy and sell stocks in football players at the trading site, and it’s refreshing to be able to focus on the main trading action without being distracted by lots of casino games. So whilst the stripped-back aesthetic of the Football Index site might not be for everyone, if you are serious about enjoying a new way to wager on your favourite footballers, give Football Index a try.

10. Betting Limits: How much can you earn at Football Index?

Most online bookmakers implement betting limits that determine how much you can win on their site. These limits usually range from hundreds to millions of pounds, and so it’s always worth checking the small print before laying down your money.

We checked the Football Index terms and conditions and couldn’t find any information regarding betting limits, so it might be worth double checking with customer service before you sell your shares. However, you can only buy up to 100 shares at a time in each individual footballer, and you can also limit the maximum amounts you deposit in order to ensure that you keep your trading responsible.
