Tipbet has been in the betting industry since 1995, first taking bets in physical bookies before turning to online betting. They offer a huge amount of choice when it comes to betting on sports and live events, covering sports such as American football, basketball and volleyball as well as old favourites such as football and horse racing. Live betting is prominent on the sites and includes popular tournaments in tennis and football as well as less commonly seen bets in esports.

Esports first made their way onto the site in 2014 after an industry shakeup made betting safer on esports tournaments. Most betting on site is covered by the Malta Gaming Authority, which is where Tipbet is physically located, however, casino games and virtual betting are monitored and fall under the jurisdiction of Curacao instead of Malta.

As Tipbet has expanded, they have carved out respectable sponsorship deals with football clubs Gzira United (Malta) and Bundesliga team SV Werder Bremen as well as being named the official betting partner of Bayern Leverkusen. Through these deals the bookie have grown their worldwide brand and continue to capitalise on the results.

The result of OpenOdds Tipbet Sportsbook review

Tipbet is one of the little guys, so you’ll be forgiven for not being familiar with the name, but their selection of casino and sporting options is everything but small. When comparing them to their competitors it’s easy to see that they can hang with the big boys with larger betting limits than some of the big guns. They’ve also got a great in-play selection for both sports and esports that should keep your inner gambler happy for hours to come.

We give all our bookmakers a rating out of 100, so you’re probably wondering what Tipbet rating we gave on our OpenOdds review. A decent 76 out of 100! Check out the Tipbet sportsbook review below.

01.Bonuses:Two great offers to choose from

There are two bonuses available when you sign up at Tipbet for the first time that are like some of the best free bets offers around. You can choose either 100% back or 200% back depending on the amount you deposit. The minimum deposit to trigger the bonuses is £10 with the 100% bonus matching up to €100 and the 200% bonus matching up to €50 meaning you can add another €100 to your kitty.

Deciding on which Tipbet bonus is right for you will depend on your initial deposit, so a little bit of maths is required to get the best deal. As a general rule anything over €50 will make the 100% deposit bonus a better deal for you.

Turnovers of these free bonuses are different depending on which option you choose. If you pick the 100% deposit bonus you need to turnover the bonus and deposit five times on sports bets or live betting before you can cash any profits out. For the 200% deposit bonus this rises to twelve times your initial deposit and bonus.

Bets must be settled on bets of 1.00 or more to count towards the turnover target. This rises to 1.90 in some European countries.

02.Customer services:Excellent transparency and contact methods

The presence of Tipbet’s customer service is immediately seen when visiting the site. As soon as you arrive on the homepage a support chatbox pops up in the bottom right of the screen. If you don’t need it, simply click the ‘no thanks’ option in the box and it vanishes without trace.

At the top of the screen is a ‘Contact Us’ tab which brings you to a webform where you can put in any queries or concerns you may have. The email address is also at the top of this page, giving you another option to contact Tipbet if required. From the contact page, you can also access a wealth of information. Tipbet likes to be transparent with their customers and so a knowledge base, a casino FAQ (if you also want to give those a try) and sporting results and statistics are all available on the right-hand side of the page at the click of a button. Great if you’re looking to do some research before placing your bets.

03.Sports covered:A good selection, but less choice than many competitors

While casino games are not ignored, the main focus of Tipbet is their sports betting selections. Don’t expect lots of obscure sports on here, the site has a selection of just 13 sports (football, tennis, basketball, ice hockey, handball, volleyball, cricket, American football, rugby, beach volleyball, boxing, snooker and baseball in case you were wondering). In the past, the site has also offered darts, snooker, golf, badminton, motor sport and table tennis bets too and will no doubt do so again when the tournaments kick in. But what the site really excels at is their in play betting that makes your gambling experience a little more exhilarating. After all, what’s more fun (and nerve wracking) than placing a bet on the underdog when they’re 2-0 down in the hope they’ll claw back a draw? The sporting selections cover all of the main sporting events in the world as well as some lesser-known selections that will keep those searching for odds anomalies entertained.

For those who prefer their sport a little more sedate, there is also the option to bet on esports. If you’re not familiar with the concept, esports is the title given to competitive video game tournaments where players work in teams for huge cash sums. Games available to bet on include DOTA2, Counter Strike: GO, Starcraft II and League of Legends.

04.Payment methods:What are your options?

All deposit methods at the bookie are instantaneous, although a caveat is written at the bottom of the page saying some may be delayed for investigation. With this rather ominous message, we were a little worried about placing a bet, but others online have had no issue so we’re happy to recommend. There are no fees for placing a deposit on site and deposits can be done in the following ways; Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Skrill, Paysafecard, Neteller, EcoPayz, GiroPay, Sofort Banking. The minimum payment on all of these is €10, with the exception of Paysafecard which allows you to place a deposit of just €1. The maximum deposit that can be made using Paysafecard is €250, whereas other deposit methods allow between €5000 and €10,000.
Withdrawals can be made by online payment wallets Skrill, Neteller and EcoPayz as well as Visa or Mastercard and bank transfer. All methods are immediate apart from bank transfer which can take between 3-7 days for the payment to hit your account. The minimum withdrawal using this method is €25 as opposed to €10 for the other methods.

05.Security:Is Tipbet safe?

Tipbet is restricted in the UK, US, France, Greece and Iran and has gained an average score on most other sites that we checked out. The reason behind this is there are a few incidents of Tipbet taking considerable time to review large winning amounts in players accounts. Most of these issues concern players accused of being part of a betting syndicate. While this may or may not have been the case, OpenOdds will always give you all the facts to help you make a decision for yourself.

If you do decide to sign up on Tipbet all financial transactions are protected by Tipbet’s SSL encryption, leaving data safe and secure from any scammers trying their luck. The site is monitored by the Malta Gaming Authority for sports betting and is registered by the government of Curacao for casino games to ensure fairness and impartiality on all bets. Their licence numbers for Malta are MGA/CL2/1119/2015 and in Curacao 1668/JAZ. Reassuringly, the site takes part in the Early Warning System to help prevent problem gambling and has links to both GamCare and gambling therapy listed placed at the bottom of their page. So, is Tipbet safe? We’d like to think so, but do check out those online complaints first.

06.Betting odds: Fair odds on all markets

Betting odds on the site cover loads of sports from football, cricket and tennis as well as less usual selections such as volleyball and esports. The odds are fair and include chances to bet on over/under, win/loss/draw and title win bets as well as various other offerings. Checking the odds against a betting odds comparison checker is recommended to make sure whatever market you’re betting on is giving you the best return for your cash. Despite this handy tool, don’t expect to find any odds errors on the site – they’re rarer than hen’s teeth thanks to the improvement in computer technology. If these do occur, chances are they’ll be on obscure events such as smaller esports betting events or sports in a developing league in a smaller country where the bookmaker’s research is less stringent.

07.User-friendliness:A great site to navigate

The site is nice and bright with a white background and grey and red colour scheme reminiscent of the old Man United away kit from the late 90’s. We’re pretty sure we’ve seen nicer looking sites, but this one contains all you need to have an enjoyable visit. Gone are the flashy animations and video links of some of their larger competitors, but this is to the credit of the site. By reducing the amount of effort the site needs to maintain moving video Tipbet can focus on the user experience – quick loading times, a clear layout and live betting that is updated swiftly to minimise betting downtime. On the casino side games load quickly and efficiently to keep players entertained for hours.

08.In-play product:Great stats for all

Tipbet has invested heavily in in-play betting, and you can tell! The site offers a huge amount of in-play bets on pretty much any popular sport you can think of, even esports too, making them a respectable choice for those who enjoy the thrills and spills of live action. What lets the site down in this regard is the lack of video streaming which many sites use to enhance the experience. This is a shame as video streaming is available in the casino for live roulette and blackjack, and we feel it would add to the excitement of placing wagers on any sporting event too.

One thing we do love though is the site’s effort to incorporate statistics and previous performance into the live betting section. This is a site that understands that those placing bets on in-play betting are seasoned bettors and research is one of the key components behind any of their betting choices. By providing a simple platform to access statistics through the tabs at the top of the page, Tipbet have catered for their audience and have made the overall betting experience much more pleasant.

09.Other products:A casino for everyone!

So, what else can we talk about in our Tipbet review? As well as sports betting bonuses, the site also has a good selection of casino games to choose from including video poker and scratchcards as well as table games such as baccarat, blackjack and pontoon. There are table games to suit all bank rolls with high limit and beginner game choices available. Those looking for a realistic casino effect can also play the live casino games that have video links to real croupiers in charge of the betting.

Slot machines feature heavily on the casino branch of the site – there are hundreds to choose from, so whether you’re interested in huge jackpots, have a miniscule budget or want to play a classic three-reel slot for old time’s sake. You can even lay the smack down on Andre the Giant in the wrestling themed offer from Microgaming!

10.Bet limits:Generous limits per bet, not per day

It doesn’t matter if you’ve got thousands to spend or a much more modest bank roll you’ll be sure to find a great selection of sports betting options for you. You can bet from as little as 0.10 coins per bet, but if you play your cards right with a high odds accumulator (and maybe cross your fingers a little) you could still come away with a tidy sum. There is a maximum win of €100,000 per bet which should satisfy most people visiting the site. This puts the little bookmaker in a great position when compared to some of their competitors. Larger sites such as Paddy Power and Betfred offer less and most bookies limit the overall amount you can win per day, making Tipbet a positive selection.
