Bayern Munich will be attempting to seal their seventh consecutive Bundesliga title this Saturday, when they welcome Eintracht Frankfurt to the Allianz Arena. If Die Roten win the game they will definitely have secured their 27th league title in total. They can still lose the game and become champions, too, as long as Borussia Dortmund lose to Borussia Moenchengladbach. Bayern drew 0-0 away at RB Leipzig last weekend, their second draw in their last three games.

Frankfurt have plenty to play for too, as they still have a chance of claiming a Champions League qualification place, and playing in Europe’s top club competition for the first time since they were European Cup finalists in 1960. Frankfurt are without a win in six games in all competitions, and have drawn four and lost two of those games.

Bayern Munich vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction: Die Roten 2-0 Die Adler

Our prediction for this game is that Bayern will win it 2-0, and claim the Bundesliga title as a result. Frankfurt are low on confidence, having not won in six games, and have also exited the Europa League at the semi-final stage to Chelsea in recent games. Munich’s fate is completely in their own hands when it comes to sealing the title, and we do not expect any nervous trembles or anxious tremors from a team with such a pedigree. In the end, the victory will be reasonably comfortable, sending the Bayern fans home very happy.

Our Betting Tip
Bayern win 2-0
Odds
17/2

Our recommended tip: Bayern Munich 2-0

Our featured tip for this game comes from Coral, who are offering odds of 17/2 on our prediction of a 2-0 win for the home side turning out to be accurate. We think that this is a good bet as the odds offer really good value. Punters can expect to pick up a decent return if this bet is included astutely as part of their football coupon this weekend. We have predicted that Bayern will simply have too much motivation and power for Eintracht to deal with this weekend, and Kovac’s team will claim their 27th Bundesliga crown.

Previous matches

These teams are very familiar with each other, having met on two previous occasions this season, and in last season’s German Cup final. Current Bayern coach Niko Kovac was still in charge of Frankfurt when they beat Bayern 3-1 in the Cup final last season. Bayern soon got revenge, though, and they triumphed 5-0 when the teams met in the German Super Cup at the start of the season. In the Bundesliga in December, the teams played each other in Frankfurt, with Die Roten coming out on top with a 3-0 victory.

Players to watch: Robert Lewandowski & Makoto Hasebe

Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski has scored 22 goals in the Bundesliga so far this season, and he also scored a hat-trick in his team’s one-sided Super Cup victory over Frankfurt earlier in the campaign. He is the league’s leading scorer, as things stand, and could claim the mantle of top Bundesliga scorer for the fourth time in his career at the weekend. He has netted just once in his last five games, though.

If Eintracht Frankfurt are to have any hope of achieving victory in this game they will need players like Makoto Hasebe to be on form at the weekend. The 35-year-old Japanese central midfielder has been operating in central defence this season, standing in for injured captain David Abraham at the heart of a three-man central defence. Now that Abraham has returned to fitness, Hasebe is back in midfield, and his defensive timing and experience are crucial to Eintracht’s chances of success.
