Wolves win 2-0

Wolverhampton Wanderers make the journey from the West Midlands to West Yorkshire this Tuesday evening, as they travel to take on struggling Huddersfield Town in the Premier League. While Wolves are unbeaten in five consecutive Premier League games, and have also progressed to the sixth round of the FA Cup in recent weeks, Huddersfield are rooted at the bottom of the league table. They have lost their five Premier League matches, with their last point coming in a 0-0 draw away at Cardiff City on January 12.
Huddersfield have won just two Premier League games all season, and have drawn only five. They have suffered 20 league defeats, a depressing statistic for all associated with the club. While achieving safety from relegation now looks impossible, the Terriers will be keen to show some professional pride between now and the end of the season.

Huddersfield Town vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Prediction: Terriers 0-2 Wolves

Our prediction for this game is that Wolves will win it comfortably. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team have been in decent form in recent weeks, and they should have few problems with beating a dispirited Terriers team which is low on confidence. We suspect that Wolves have sufficient attacking power to break down the Town defence at least twice, and while we have predicted a 2-0 final scoreline, it could well be a lot more. Huddersfield have only scored two goals in 2019 so far, so the chances of them creating enough chances to trouble Wolves are pretty low.

Our Betting Tip
Wolves win 2-0
Odds
6/1

Our featured tip for this game comes from Betway, who are offering odds of 6/1 on Wolves winning the game 2-0. We have chosen this bet as odds of 6/1 offer decent returns, and the result is pretty likely, in our view. While Huddersfield have struggled to score goals in the league this season, Wolves have done pretty well in that regard, and possess plenty of players who can cause the Terriers’ defence problems. The odds that the bookie has set for this scoreline are also pretty short, so the bookie clearly feels that this result is not an unlikely outcome for this contest.

Previous matches

These two sides have clashed on 83 previous occasions in their history. Out of those games, Huddersfield have won 37 games, Wolves have come out on top 32 times and there have been 14 draws. Despite that long history of encounters, though, the two sides have played each other on only one previous occasion in the Premier League.
That clash came earlier this season, when the two teams met at Molineux on November 25 last year. The game was one of the two Premier League matches that the Terriers have won this season. Town won the game 2-0.

Players to watch: Zanka & Raul Jimenez

Mathias Jorgenson, better known as Zanka, is Huddersfield’s top scorer this season. The fact that he is a defender sums up perfectly the issues that Town have had with finding someone up front who can stick the ball in the net. Zanka has netted three goals this season, and has also provided one assist for his team mates. His tackle success rate is 63%, showing the quality of his defensive play, which is, of course, his main job in the team.

Wolves’ Mexican striker Raul Jimenez is his club’s top scorer in the Premier League this season. The forward has scored 10 goals in 27 league appearances in the 2018/19 campaign, and has also provided five assists for his team-mates. Two of those goals have come from the penalty spot. As well as the five assists he has provided, he has also created eight big chances for team mates, highlighting the overall quality of his play.
