They may be right next to each other in the Premier League standings, but Leicester City and Crystal Palace have had very different fortunes as of late. The home team, despite sitting five points above their opponents, have crashed and burned since the turn of 2019. They have failed to secure a single victory since the first day of the New Year when they won against Everton.
Crystal Palace, on the other hand, started off with a duo of losses – although their valiant 4-3 falling to Liverpool was nothing to be ashamed of – before beginning to turn things around. That being said, their two victories in the FA Cup, including a brilliant 2-0 win over Tottenham, are irrelevant to their Premier League status. Still, the seesaw-like momentum of each has made this one tough to predict.
Leicester City vs Crystal Palace Prediction: Leicester 1-0 Palace
For us, this is a rare instance where the recent results haven’t quite matched the performances. Despite Leicester’s lacklustre start of the year, we do think they’ve shown plenty of sparkle on the pitch. For instance, they dragged Liverpool to a stalemate. Plus, let’s not forget that 2-1 win over Manchester City back in December.
While Crystal Palace have had their own successes, we have to say that we still think Leicester have more potential. With that in mind, we are going to side with the bookmakers and predict a Leicester victory – although just barely, with a scoreline prediction of 1-0 to the home team.
Our recommended tip: Leicester City win
Leicester City and Crystal Palace are side-by-side in the Premier League standings, with just one position and five points currently between them. That being said, the odds do give a clear advantage to the home side here, with the Foxes enjoying a 43% win probability to their opponent’s 28%. Taking this into consideration, we recommend that you back the favourites to victory for the best chance of getting a potential ROI. If you choose to heed our advice, then you’ll find low-risk Leicester City match odds of 11/10 at Paddy Power.
Their seasons may be back-and-forth but that’s nothing compared to their head-to-head history. When it comes to overall victories, it’s a tie between the teams, with their first match taking place all the way back in 1922. That’s quite the statistic.
Not only that but their last seven matches have seen Leicester City and Crystal Palace both walk away with three victories apiece and one draw. That’s a pretty good indicator that this is going to be a closer game than some commenters seem to expect – that and the fact the last three went Crytal Palace’s way, including an astonishing 5-0 win last April.

Players to watch: Jamie Vardy & Wilfried Zaha
Leicester City: Jamie Vardy
The exclusion of Vardy from the starting line-up in their 3-1 loss against offence-heavy Tottenham was widely criticised. And Vardy proved those criticisms true, as he not only managed to score the only goal for his team that night, but also ignited a sense of purpose in the squad for the last 15 minutes. While we appreciate that teams need to try different line-ups, taking those kinds of chances at this stage was foolish and we doubt the same will happen here.
Crystal Palace: Wilfried Zaha
Wilfried Zaha was the difference maker in Crystal Palace’s last Premier League outing against West Ham, which went to a 1-1 stalemate. He came very close to scoring the victory were it not for a brilliant save by keeper Łukasz Fabiański. He is undoubtedly a talented player and one who is capable of causing problems for virtually any defence. Leicester will struggle to keep him at bay.
