Livingston welcome Rangers to the Tony Macaroni Stadium in West Lothian this Sunday lunchtime for what should be an interesting and entertaining Scottish Premiership encounter. Both teams are unbeaten in their last four games, and have very similar recent records. Rangers, like Livi, have won three and drawn one in the last four.
Livingston have picked up some significant results, having beaten Hibernian and held Heart of Midlothian to a draw in those four unbeaten matches. Rangers took a vital Europa League point with a 2-2 draw at Villarreal, and hammered St Johnstone 5-1 in their last league game.
Both sides will want to keep their unbeaten runs going, and Rangers will want three points to start putting some pressure on current table-toppers Hearts.
Livingston vs Rangers Prediction: Rangers 2-1 Livingston
Our prediction for this game is that Rangers will win a tight and tense encounter 2-1. Backing Kyle Lafferty to score at any time looks a good bet. The Gers will be made to work for their three points, though, and may well find themselves a goal down at half-time. Hard work after the interval will bring rewards, though. The team from Govan have been in good goal-scoring form in recent weeks, with 11 goals in their last three games. They will need that attacking prowess on Sunday, as Livi have shown defensive resilience in recent weeks.
Our recommended tip: Rangers, both score
Our featured tip for this game comes from BetVictor, where you can get odds of 12/5 on Rangers to win and both teams to score. Our prediction for the result of this match is that it will end 2-1 in favour of the away side. Obviously, this tip fits that prediction perfectly. If you want to add value to your bets this weekend, back Kyle Lafferty to score too. Rangers will have to work hard to break down Grant Holt’s Livi, who will be backed by some passionate home fans. Livi may well go into an early lead, but Rangers will overhaul them.
The last time these two teams played in a competitive fixture was in the 2015/16 season, when both were in the Championship. They played four times that season. Rangers won the two games at Ibrox, winning 3-0 in September and 4-1 in January. At Almondvale it was a different story, though. The first game there ended in a 1-1 draw in November. The second game at Livingston, in April 2016, was won 1-0 by the home team. Those results show that Livingston can perform on their own patch against the Glasgow giants, though the two teams are very different now.

Players to watch: Zdenek Zlamal & Kyle Lafferty
Livingston goalkeeper Zdenek Zlamal could be a key man on Sunday. He can expect to have a busy time of it, given Rangers’ goal-scoring exploits over the last couple of games. The Czech goalie will be feeling confident, though. He saved a penalty from Hearts’ Scotland striker Steven Naismith last week in the goalless draw at Tynecastle. It was probably a good job he saved the spot kick, given that it was him who gave it away.
Kyle Lafferty is always a man to watch when Rangers are playing. Now in his second spell with the Teddy Bears, the Ulsterman is a charismatic player who remains a fans’ favourite at Ibrox. He did not play against Ayr in midweek, so will be fresh on Sunday. He scored last week against St Johnstone, and was also on target in the Europa League against Villarreal. He is the kind of striker who scores at vital moments.
