Bet of the Day: Didtheyleaveuoutto weighted to deliver at Huntingdon

Didtheyleaveuoutto in the 2m 3f handicap hurdle at Huntingdon is Bet of the Day for 06/02/20

Having fallen in the weights, Didtheyleaveuoutto ia fancied to cash-in on a drop in class and land the spoils in the 2m 3f handicap hurdle at Huntingdon on Thursday (15:05).

This JP McManus owned six-year-old, who hails from the yard of Nick Gifford, looked an exciting prospect when winning his first two starts in bumpers, including a Listed contest at Ascot in good style.

He was also far from disgraced when 10th of 23 to Relegate in the Grade 1 Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival.

There was lots to like about his debut win over hurdles at Fakenham, where he travelled well and only had to be driven out to assert close home to beat Starjac by a neck.

Didtheyleaveuoutto then showed a good attitude to follow-up in a seven-runner class 2 contest at Ascot when running only strongly to beat Thomas Darby by a head.

The winner went on to finish a cracking 4 1/2 lengths runner-up to Klassical Dream in the Grade 1 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.

He has since won a Grade 3 handicap hurdle last time out at Ascot off a mark of 151. That gives the form a very strong look in relation to this.

Although Didtheyleaveuoutto failed to shine in his hat-trick bid lat Kempton when a 14 lengths fifth of six to Mister Fisher, that was a muddlingly run affair and the race worked out quite well.

He was then far from disgraced when ninth of 14 to Al Dancer in the ultra-competitive Grade 3 Betfair Hurdle at Ascot off 139, or when a tenderly handled 12th of 18 to Great Tango at the Galway Festival.

Didtheyleaveuoutto has had just one start this season, in a hot Grade 3 handicap at Ascot, where he was sent off a well-backed 6/1 shot but could finish only 10th of 15 to Gumball off 135.

He failed to see out the race that day after travelling into the contest well, before weakening two from home.

Didtheyleaveuoutto has done the same before, so that suggests he could have a breathing issue. It’s therefore very interesting that he has since undergone wind surgery.

If that has the desired effect, then he looks like a massive player in this class 2 contest – especially off a career low mark of 132.

Didtheyleaveuoutto is also now reunited with Barry Gearghty, who is three from four on him. He has lots going for him and looks the one to be on in this at 4/1 with Coral.

This looks like a great opportunity for him to resume winning ways, as he has a 50 per cent success rate at this level.

Bet of the Day: 4/1 with Coral, Didtheyleaveuoutto in the 2m 3f handicap hurdle at Huntingdon.
