Now dropped back in grade, Eternally Yours looks worth a wager at 9/2 with Coral to get back to winning ways in the 2m 5f handicap hurdle at Ayr on Thursday(14:40).
This Donald Whillans trained seven-year-old mare is yet to finish out of the frame in five starts over timber – winning twice and being placed on two occasions at this venue.
She was last successful in a class 4 handicap hurdle at Newcastle 13 months ago on soft ground when coming from off the pace to draw clear at the last and easily beat Rubytwo by 16 lengths.
Eternally Yours got put up 11lb for that facile success, but ran really well off her revised rating of 127 when finding only Crixus’s Escape five lengths too good here in a class 3 back in March.
The third home Dubai Angel, who finished six lengths behind the selection and was giving her just 1lb, has since scored off 120 – so that gives the form a solid look.
Trip and ground ideal for Eternally Yours
Eternally Yours was then on the sidelines for 239 days, before making a promising return to action at Carlisle back in November when staying on from well off the pace to finish a never nearer 19 1/2 lengths third to Bordeaux Bill in a class 2 over 2m 4f.
The daughter of Sulamani is entitled to come on for that outing and is able to race in this less competitive class 3 affair off an unchanged rating of 127.
That looks exploitable on the pick of her form, especially as the consistent and lightly-raced Eternally Yours remains unexposed and open to further progress.
The step back up to 2m 5f, over which she is two from two, is an obvious plus and Eternally Yours also has proven winning form on soft ground.
Callum Whillans also takes a handy 3lb of her back with his claim and the yard is in dcenet nick having saddled twp winners and four runners-up from its last eight runners.
So, taking everything into account, there is simply nothing not to like about her chances in this.
Bet of the Day: 9/2 with Coral, Eternally Yours in the 2m 5f handicap hurdle at Ayr.
