The Champions League is back and an Olivier Giroud wincast in Chelsea v Valencia appeals on last season’s form.

It’s a terrible start for new Bats boss Albert Celades who replaced Marcelino Garcia Toral. That change of coach has divided Valencia supporters, so another away day isn’t ideal.
While Los Che let in many goals at the Nou Camp, Chelsea are scoring for fun. Frank Lampard can thank Tammy Abraham and his purple patch for that.
However, this is a European game and the Blues use Giroud as their centre forward in such matches. Under Lampard’s predecessor Maurizio Sarri, Giroud fired Chelsea to Europa League glory last term.
He was prolific in the competition. Giroud grabbed 11 in 14 last season and enhanced that record to 12 in 15 by netting in the European Super Cup against Liverpool.
Giroud wincast worth a wager
Lampard has a big Premier League game with the same opposition coming up after Valencia, so there may be some squad rotation.
Abraham could well be saved for that, so a Giroud wincast at 12/5 with Paddy Power makes sense. He is the striker the Blues rely on for European goals.
Valencia made a lot of changes at the back over the summer. They recruited a new goalie and three defenders.
As these will take time to gel and this is arguably their toughest trip in Champions League Group H, it’s looking difficult for them.
Giroud can bully defenders with his physical presence and has proven a great focal point for the Chelsea attack.
Taking all that into account, backing the Blues to win and him to score looks a value bet this Tuesday.
