Lady Camelot is 3lb well-in on main market rival Bubbles Of Gold and gets weight all-round in the four-runner extended 2m 4f maiden hurdle at Market Rasen on Wednesday (14:40).
She can make it third time lucky since joining Yorkshire trainer Philip Kirby and land the odds at 15/8 with Betfred.
This four-year-old filly has some smart Flat form to her name and placed at Listed level since switching to hurdles for previous handler Gavin Cromwell.
After scoring on her racecourse debut in a 7f race at Listowel in September 2017, Lady Camelot found a step up in class too much, too soon.
While she was last of seven in a Listed mile event for Flat juveniles at Navan, the daughter of Camelot was only beaten seven lengths.
She then spent last summer handicapping, placing three times over 1m 4f including in a Premier event back at Listowel.
Lady Camelot went down by just three-quarters of a length to Maze Runner at Galway before having her attentions switched to hurdles.
Although well-beaten in her first two starts in this sphere, it looked significant she was brought over to Aintree for the Listed juvenile fillies’ race on Becher Chase day.
Placed at Listed level
Chica Buena was a runaway winner on the soft ground, but Lady Camelot rallied despite not being fluent at the last and was just held for second having stayed on up the run-in under pressure.
She then unseated her jockey early in a Limerick maiden hurdle landed by subsequent Fred Winter winner Band Of Outlaws before being sold.
Lady Camelot was stepped up to an extended 2m 3f on debut for Kirby, but beaten 10 lengths by an enterprisingly ridden front runner.
Last time out, she stayed on to take second at the last and finish a six-length runner-up to Pink Legend when back down in trip at Catterick.
Kirby’s team is in decent form with the yard on a 22 per cent strike rate in the last 14 days at the time of writing.
Sean Quinlan, who is operating at a similar percentage, is in the saddle. So, in receipt of 15lb from the favourite and getting all possible allowances, Lady Camelot looks the one to be on.
Bet of the Day: 15/8 with Betfred, Lady Camelot to win the 14:40 at Market Rasen.
