We’re almost in to the March international break, but there’s one more big football match in the EFL before that.
League Two leaders Lincoln City head to automatic promotion chasing Mansfield Town on Monday night (kick-off: 19:45 GMT).
This battle between fourth and first in the table pits the Stags, whose home form is very strong, against the Red Imps – also equally effective on their travels.
The reverse fixture at Sincil Bank in November ended in a draw, so the best-price 12/5 with Unibet for the spoils to be shared again is very tempting.
Lincoln enjoy a five-point lead over Bury at the top, while this is Mansfield’s game in hand on MK Dons – the side immediately above in the third and final automatic promotion place.
It’s squeaky bum time in the promotion push
Every point is precious now as teams enter the run-in. Mansfield have dropped plenty on their travels, but are as strong as ever on their own patch at Field Mill.
In young Tyler Walker – one of three players they have on loan from Nottingham Forest – the Stags have a prolific goal threat at this level.
The same can be said for Lincoln though. Red Imps frontman John Akinde banged the goals in for Barnet before moving to the Bank and continues to do so.
A tight cagey game is expected. The visitors’ defence has been very miserly on the road, but the Stags rearguard has also held firm 10 times at home at this term.
These are evenly matched sides both with blends of youth and experience. It is hard to look past honours being even again but – if you do fancy one side more than the other – investigating the draw no bet market provides money back if it does finish level.
Bet of the Day: 12/5 with Unibet for a draw in Mansfield Town v Lincoln City.
