This tough and ultra-consistent sort was purchased by Trevor Hemmings during the summer and has since won two of his three starts. He is aiming to give his owner an unprecedented fourth victory in the Grand National.

Having defeated Captain Chaos by 2 3/4 lengths in the Listed 3m Rehearsal Handicap Chase at Newcastle on Fighting Fifth Hurdle day in early December, he had the same rival even further behind when winning the Grade 3 Rowland Meyrick over 3m in good style at Wetherby on Boxing day.

Lake View Lad comes into this having finished an excellent staying on third, beaten just over three lengths, under top weight in the Grade 3 Ultima Handicap Chase over 3m 1f at the Cheltenham Festival.

That performance commands him the utmost respect and a bold bid looks on the cards from this improving grey horse. Lake View Lad is a definite each-way contender for the 2019 Grand National.
