Dour stayer became just the second Scottish-trained winner of the Grand National in 2017, emulating the 1979 victor Rubstic, but was unable to line-up and defend his crown 12 months ago because of a leg injury.

One For Arthur has failed to complete in both of his starts so far this season, having unseated his rider in both the Grade 2 Many Clouds Chase here in December and the Peter Marsh at Haydock Park back in January.

That has to be a concern. He also missed his intended prep race for in Listed Premier Chase at Kelso due to unsuitable ground, but went well in a recent a schooling session at Carlisle and is reported to be in good nick by connections.

Back form includes victory in the similar Grade 3 Classic Handicap Chase over an extended 3m 5f at Warwick.

Has previous course experience from before Aintree success when an eye-catching fifth in the 2017 Becher Handicap Chase.

On a fair mark, but hopes pinned on return to the scene of his greatest triumph getting his jumping back on track.
