Everton beat Lincoln and BTTS in the EFL Cup second round is Bet of the Day for 28/08/19

The form of an FA Cup meeting in January suggests Everton beat Lincoln and BTTS is value.

After battling at Goodison Park earlier this year, these two sides feature on TV in the EFL Cup second round this Wednesday (Sky Sports, kick-off: 19:45 BST).

As a Premier League club, Everton are long odds-on favourites in the regular betting on a result in 90 minutes.

Lincoln City were a League Two team when they travelled to Merseyside in January, but have since been promoted.

The EFL Cup has already proven a graveyard for top flight sides again this season. Crystal Palace and Norwich City both suffered giant-killings courtesy of lower league clubs.

Marco Silva’s side will want to avoid that happening to them, so expect the Toffees to take this seriously.

He put out a strong Everton team for the time of year when the side last met. That FA Cup tie finished 2-1 and something similar may be on the cards at Sincil Bank.

Everton beat Lincoln and BTTS a solid option

Hosts Lincoln made a great start to the new season, but have lost their last couple of matches. They have scored in every game, however, and with home advantage could nick a goal against the Toffees.

Things aren’t fully clicking yet in attack for Everton, but this is their easiest assignment of the campaign so far.

Bernard got the winner at Goodison in January and the diminutive Brazilian winger was also on target when the Toffees edged Watford.

A repeat scenario where Everton beat Lincoln and BTTS looks a solid bet at 2/1 with Betway here as a result.

The Red Imps can show League One teams in a better light after the expulsion of Bury and ongoing difficulties at Bolton Wanderers.

The Toffees are the team to back in this tie despite losing 2-0 at promoted Aston Villa last time out.

Bet of the Day: 2/1 with Betway, Everton beat Lincoln and BTTS in the EFL Cup second round.
