Bet of the Day: Newcastle to beat Burnley and both teams to scorePublished on: February 26, 2019Author: Jamie Clark
Newcastle United and Burnley can pull themselves further clear of relegation when the two Premier League sides meet at St James’ Park on Tuesday (kick-off: 20:00 GMT).
Buoyed by the arrival of winter window signing Miguel Almiron, Rafa Benitez’s Magpies have won their last three home league games.
Sean Dyche and his Clarets travel from Turf Moor to Tyneside in decent away form after taking a point at Manchester United and beating Brighton on the road recently.
Burnley now face another cross-country trip to the Toon as 3/1 outsiders with Betfred for the win. Newcastle won the reverse fixture 2-1, so the Clarets are looking to avoid having the double done over them.
These two sides are next to each other in the Premier League table, so a draw is 40/17 with Unibet. Burnley haven’t won on Tyneside since 1976 and that makes the in-form hosts firm betting favourites for victory.
Despite that record, the Clarets have only failed to score twice in the league since December first. Dyche has his side organised and they come into this off the back of scalping Spurs.
Toon win and BTTS the value bet
That Newcastle run of three Premier League wins on the spin at home includes defeating champions Manchester City.
A Magpies victory and both teams to score – the outcome in the reverse fixture – looks big value at 4/1 with Ladbrokes here.
The Toon have conceded goals in four of their last five matches across all competitions, so that combined with Burnley’s fine scoring record suggests this could well happen again.
Dyche’s own defence has shipped 10 goals in their previous five outings – an average of two per game – so Newcastle will get change out of them.
Plenty to points to a Newcastle victory and both teams hitting the target in this midweek Premier League encounter.
Bet of the Day: Newcastle to beat Burnley and both teams to score at 4/1 with Ladbrokes.
