Bet of the Day: Gareth Bale next club is Bayern MunichPublished on: July 22, 2019Author: Jamie Clark
Looking at Gareth Bale next club options after Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane wants him gone, Bayern Munich are value.
The Bundesliga giants are as big as 13/2 with Betfair but as short as 2/1 elsewhere. Bayern have lost long-serving duo Arjen Robben and Franck Rivery, so a marquee signing like Bale makes sense.
Zidane and Bale don’t get on. Both were star players at the Bernabeu scoring goals in Champions League finals.
It’s a summer of change at Los Blancos, however, as Real made a dismal defence of the European Cup last term.
Attacking additions like Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic mean Bale is further down the pecking order in Madrid.
Now 30, he’s at the stage of his career where regular first team football is important, so where next?
Bayern can offer Bale the prospect of plenty more trophy tilts. The Bavarians have won the last seven editions of the Bundesliga.
Gareth Bale next club: Robben and Ribery big loss
Although Munich already have players on their books that are potential replacements for Robben and Ribery, they lack Bale’s profile.
Kingsley Coman, Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry are all under 25 and yet to reach their prime.
Bale, on the other hand, is a four-time Champions League winner that has done it all in Spain.
Although there’s rumoured interest from the Chinese Super League, it’d be a big waste of his talent.
Bale still has plenty to offer European football and the Bundesliga is the fashionable place for young British talent.
England counterpart Jadon Sancho has torn it up with Borussia Dortmund. That makes Bale in his prime exactly the sort of signing Bayern need to stave off younger, hungry players at rival clubs.
Former club Tottenham and Manchester United have other priorities, so back Bale for a Bundesliga switch.
Bet of the Day: 13/2 with Betfair, Gareth Bale next club is Bayern Munich.
