Intel Extreme Masters

The Intel Extreme Masters was founded in 2006 making it the longest running gaming tour in the world. They have five events per year, one in Katowice, Poland, Sydney, Australia, Gyeonggi, South Korea, Oakland, USA and Shanghai, China.

The most recent Katowice event occurred earlier this year and saw the biggest attendance record of any eSports competition in the world with 173,000 people attending the stadium. An incredible 46 million unique viewers watched online, too.

If you are interested in placing esports bets but don’t want to limit your betting choices, Intel Extreme Masters is the event for you as it covers the widest selection of games in esports. Esports fans can bet on Counter Strike, StarCraft 2, League of Legends and also give Overwatch Betting websites a hard time as they are one of the few large tournaments that offer Overwatch competition.

Dota 2 International

Held by Dota 2 creators Valve, the International first took place in 2011 in Cologne, Germany shortly after the release of Dota2 to the public. The total prize pot that year was an impressive $1.6 million. That year the tournament was won by Natus Vicere of Sweden. Fast forward a few years to last year and they came a rather underwhelming 14th. This comes after a disappointing defeat for the qualifying round of the ESL Manila too. The winners of last year’s tournament were the Chinese team Wings Gaming who defeated the US team Digital Chaos in the final. Two other American teams dominated that year with Evil Geniuses finishing third against Fnatic.

Last year’s tournament was shown on the Internet through streaming website Twitch. The final prize pool reached a staggering $20,770,460 with Wings gaming taking over $9 million of the pool. It is worth noting that none of the top four teams were ‘invited’ to the tournament.

This year’s event in Seattle’s KeyArena is hoping to be even bigger with qualifiers taking place on April 4th and 5th in Seattle, Rio, London, Berlin, Moscow, Beijing, Singapore, Seoul and Sydney. Tickets will be $100 for a midweek ticket and $200 for a final ticket. The competition will wrap up in mid-August.

League of Legends Worlds

Taking place in China, the LoL Worlds 2017 tournament has 24 teams take part from 13 different regions between September 23rd and November 4th. The regions are:

  • Brazil
  • China
  • Commonwealth of Independent States
  • Europe
  • Japan
  • Korea
  • Latin America – North
  • Latin America – South
  • North America
  • Oceania
  • Southeast Asia
  • Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau
  • Turkey

The seeded players from each team are divided into one of four groups and each group plays games against each other. The top two teams from each group go through to the next round. In round two the two top teams play against each other and the winner advances to the group stages. Here the four teams from the play-ins will compete against twelve teams. These are made up of three teams from South Korea, China, North America, Europe and Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau as well as one team from Brazil, Latin America North, Latin America South, Japan, Oceania, Turkey, Southeast Asia and CIS/Russia. The final team is from the Wildcard region with the highest rank finish.

Teams continue to compete in a knock-out tournament until one winner emerges victorious to snatch the championship and the financial rewards that come along with it.

Call of Duty World League Anaheim

Tickets for the upcoming Call of Duty World League tournament in Anaheim are flying out if the door. The VIP tickets were snapped up weeks ago and most of the general admission tickets have gone too. This is no real surprise following last year’s event which saw OpTic Gaming capture a nail-biting series after a three-hour bout with eUnited which saw Scump Abner hit 28 kills per round!

This year the competition is set to have its biggest number in attendance ever, which is incredible considering the size of the crowd last year so expect the Anaheim Convention Center to be buzzing in the middle of June. Prizes for the players are also bumper, with funds of $4,000-$80,000 awarded for 8th-1st place. Pro Points are also handed out with a staggering 25,000 being awarded to the winner.

The teams will train their trigger fingers on the PS4 control, meaning that fans can watch the event in game using the Live Event Viewer on their own PS4 console. As with almost all eSports tournaments, the games will also be shown live on Twitch.

ESL Pro League

Run by the world’s largest eSports provider ESL, the Pro League sees top teams from across the world complete over a nine-week CSGO tournament for a prize sum of $1 million – double what was offered last year. After the usual nine-week competition there is a LAN portion where the victor is determined.

Season five of the competition is currently underway with the next big match featuring the legends Team LOLC vs Virtus.Pro. As with most games, this will be available to watch on Switch and YouTube. If you’re looking to take a foray into csgo gambling there are plenty of betting options here. You can bet on individual results, accumulators or of course take a punt on Asian handicaps. There are 25 countries represented in one of the biggest tournaments in the world and the event is run by Valve, the makers of DOTA 2. World Championship Series Global StarCraft II

You didn’t think we’d forgotten StarCraft II, did you? All the Best eSports Betting Sites offer wagers on this popular game and we’re not surprised. With elements of military strategy in a sci-fi setting, the game is arguably one of the most exhilarating and ingenious games we’ve featured on our site.

The World Championship Series Global is organised by the masterminds behind StarCraft II Blizzard Entertainment and is split up over a series of events with a total prize fund of $2 million. These are made in conjunction with AfreecaTV and the earlier mentioned ESL and DreamHack. After many games played over the tournaments the players will be whittled down to 16 who then take part in StarCraft playoffs to see who the ultimate champion is.

Capcom Cup

Hadouken! If you’ve got fond childhood memories (or maybe more recent ones) of beating your friends with nothing more than Chun Li’s lightning legs and a can of Tizer then the Capcom Cup will be right up your street. It is an invitational where 32 players from around the globe all take part to see who is the ultimate champion.

One of the tournament spots is taken up by last year’s winner NuckleDu and the others are selected using the global leaderboards and a Capcom Cup Last Chance Qualifier. There are plenty of options out there to place your Capcom Cup esports bets, but do make sure that you check out our eSports odds comparison to make sure that you’re getting the best deal for you.

Mid-Season Invitational

The Mid-Season Invitational will see thirteen teams take part in a League of Legends tournament in sunny Rio de Janeiro. Each of these teams is from a different region of the world and players are seeded depending on their previous two-years performances. This is one of the most exciting League of Legends tournaments, and is a perfect opportunity to take part in some cheeky League of Legends betting to make watching the event a little bit more interesting.

Not sure where to start?

Here are some eSports betting strategies to help you out:

  • Create an accumulator with a number of top teams.
  • Bet small!
  • Research and bet on good players. Don’t just pick a name out of hat.
  • Check out sites to help you stretch any betting bonuses you’ve been awarded.
  • Don’t bet on a game if you don’t know the game well. If your forte is DOTA don’t make bets on League of Legends Worlds. Similarly, if you only know StarCraft it’s probably not a good idea to spend all your budget on csgo gambling.

And be sure to see if there are any betting bonuses out there to you the chance to place extra wagers on these exhilarating tournaments. Be sure to check the games out on Twitch.tv to catch all the thrills and spills of the events as they go on and see who has their hands raised in victory.
